The classic 9th waste in a Fat Office is the Fat Printer, where the HR dept (working closely with their IT spies) install one giant printer/fax/copier/toaster to ensure staff get to know eachother when queueing for their print outs. And if you mark your stuff ‘confidential’ you can be sure everyone will have read it before you get your hands on it. Guaranteed to spark off lots of gossip and idle speculation that can keep the office going for weeks. Fat is the new Lean!
